LEGISLATIVE ACTION ALERT: ATTENTION MSA MEMBERS AND CLUBS!

MSA Legislation, LD 1547, to create additional funding for trail maintenance and capital equipment has passed the House and Senate…..we now need YOUR help to make sure the Appropriations Committee passes it!

LD 1547 is projected to create approximately $1,000,000 extra dollars each year for the Snowmobile Trail Fund and Capital Equipment Fund for local snowmobile clubs to benefit from! This will be accomplished by creating an early season and “in-season” registration fee system.

How it works: Starting in 2027, if you register your snowmobile on or before December 15 you will pay the same registration fee that you do today. If you register on or after December 16, you will pay a few dollars more. Those extra dollars for “in-season” registrations will be dedicated to the Trail and Capital Equipment Funds for local clubs to benefit from- and will make a HUGE impact for clubs.

How YOU can help:

PLEASE call, text, email or message on social media members of the Appropriations Committee and tell them that you and your club support LD 1547 and encourage them to support it! This funding is critical to clubs to continue to maintain and enhance our trail systems and benefit our local economies! DO NOT WAIT TO REACH OUT! These decisions are being made quickly in Augusta and it is imperative that they hear from MSA members about our support for this legislation!
